Load STL geometry can not load read only file

I am using the Load STL Geometry VI to load a 3D model that I am using in a scene.  A path constant pointing at the file is wired to the Model File input of the VI.  If the file is read only, the VI does not load it, but opens a file dialog box instead.  If the file is not read only, everything seems to work fine.  Is this expected behavior?  I wouldn't think that just loading the file should depend on whether or not it is read only.  Is there a way to use a read only file in this situation?

You are correct that this is not the expected behavior of this particular vi.  This is a known issue that our R&D department is aware of.  For your reference, the number associated with this issue is #281409.
