Loose FP connection after Windows XP update

After completing Windows XP update, I always loose the connection to the FP-2000. I've had this problem several times and it always happened after windoews update completed.

To reconnect to the FP-2000, I've tried all thinkable things: restarting Ethernet Card, other driver, changing parameters, restarting XP, restarting FP-2000 and and and. But there is only one solution: Turn off the whole test system (PC, PXI with MXI, FP-2000, Hub...) for at least 4 hours, then it will work again. I know it sounds strange, but that's how it is!

Does anybody know similar problems? Is there an other solution than waiting 4 hours after each update?

I have searched all available resources but I couldn't find any hints about a behavior like that. All PCs in our office have the automatic Windows update option enabled but no one has ever experienced a behavior like that so it's a bit hard for me to suggest a reasonable solution.

Here are some general ideas:

• Is the Windows firewall activated (but if this was the case why should the issue be resolved after 4 hours???)?
• Please check you PC's IP-configuration after the Windows update. Maybe the IP address got lost and for some reason your DHCP server reassigns a new one with a delay of several hours. If this was the case all network communication should be lost after the Windows update.
• Try to reconfigure your IP settings in a command window with "ipconfig /renew".
  
• Does the problem occurr with another PC, too?

I hope this gives you at least some ideas.
