MAX 5.0 can't find LabVIEW runtime 7.1

Hello:

Installed LabVIEW 7.1 runtime engine on LabVIEW 2011 machine using LVRunTimeEng.exe.  7.1 dll function correctly, so far.

Concerned that MAX 5.0 does not locate and report LabVIEW 7.1 runtime being there.

Thanks

Regardless of whether it shows up in MAX, does the code work?

Hello:

Yes, code does work.  You can go to add/remove software and under National Instruments you can see that 7.1 is installed also noticed that runtime 7.0 is installed MAX did not see this.

I'm disappointed that MAX can't see both of these.

Thank you!

Well, I have replicated this behavior.  I can see RTEs back through 8.2.1 in MAX, but not 7.1.

What are you doing that requires RTE 7.1 visibility in MAX?  I'll see what I can do with MAX, but there may be a simpler way to accomplish what you are trying to do.

Best regards.

Hello:

I have some older dll that require Runtime 7.1, having 7.0 is not bad either.  I guess the newer versions of MAX must not care about runtime engines older than 8.2.

Thanks for looking into it
