MAX works but Labview doesn't! with MIO board

Hi,

I connect a function generator to the NI BNC2090, ..in "MAX"... "devices and interfaces"...I can see the DAQ device which means it is already connected( I mean the device han been recognized by the Labview) , then I click the "Test Panel", I can get the signal!!...

BUT, in "Block diagram" window of Labview,  by clicking on "DAQ Assistant"..Analog Input....Voltage...

I see this message

"No physical channels has been supported"...

Anybody knows what's wrong with that?

Labview version 7.1

Driver 7.4.4

MIO card" AT-MIO/AI-16XE-10"

Thanks

Vahideh

The DAQ Assistant is only for devices with the DAQmx driver and your device is probably using the long obsolete traditional DAQ driver. Your version of LabVIEW is also long obsolete. Just use the lower level DAQ functions such as used in the examples.

NI DAQ 7.4.4 IS a "Traditional" DAQ Driver there is no DAQmx  so I'm not sure how you can even drop a DAQ Assistant with that set-up.  MAX "Test panels" are something else between NI DAQ versions.  Can you create a "Task" in MAX?

Going back to the old readme clears that up the AT-MIO-16XE-10 is restricted to Legacy DAQ and the DAQmx driver does not support that obsolete equipment

Thanks for your reply. Actually No, I can't, I tried to creat a task in MAX, but I faced the same message..."There is no supported physical channel"...So, what's your suggestion? To install a newew version of Labview? It can help?

Thanks

If I understood your reply, we're supposed to use a newer version of AT-MIO-16XE-10 ?Right?

With the same Labview software?

Thanks

The AT-MIO-16XE-10 will never work with the DAQ Assistant you must use traditional DAQ to work with that device.  Ploping a DAQ Assistant on the BD won't get you anywhere since it uses DAQmx inside.

That device is 20 year old teknology.  If you have a system that runs and works with the device you should schedule it for an upgrade.  Its hard to find parts for a '76 AMC Gremlin too-  Luckilly I don't rely on one to travel.

You can use the existing hardware and LabVIEW. You just can't use the assistant. This is not necessarily a bad thing. You could also replace the hardware and software. There is no such thing as a newer version of your existing device. Only the pci version of the card is supported.
