Making space - what folders can be safely deleted while not affecting LabVIEW?

Solved!
Go to solution

I also purge the MDF folder occasionally.  I have also deleted the NI packages and not noticed any issue.

Back in the day I was the first employee to get an SSD laptop.  I think it was a ZIF drive, with a SATA adapter.  It only had 64GB of space, and was running Windows XP.  But I installed multiple versions of LabVIEW, and then had a batch file set to run them all at the same time.  Watching 5 or so versions of LabVIEW open up in a couple of seconds was amazing, but I always struggled with space.

Thanks, Everyone!

I'm not sure who best to mark as the "Solution" provider as no one person gave me the full answer, but I've selected Terry_ALE as he had the first post on the FPGA tools. A shame you can't select more than one...

And thanks everyone for sharing your experience with these folders and warning about the caveats of clearing them. And thanks WesW for finding the KB article!

Regards,

Erik

Thinking about future visitors to this thread, you could summarize the solution into a single post and mark that as the solution.

Yes, you can mark multiple posts in a thread as a solution.
