Misbehaving Table

I am getting a bit frustrated with the LabVIEW table control. I am hoping someone can explain this mysterious behavior to me. When running, the table displays a box around cells that are not currently selected, even with Show Selection turned off. I didn't find a property that allows me to change the color of the box (it seems to match the table background (as in, behind the cells) that I was able to change with some random clicking with the paint brush. In any case, I want to be able to display the table control, and not see any selection boxes, or any other boxes around the cells during run time (aside from the grid, of course). Any suggestions?

The example should display the behavior I'm talking about. It's LabVIEW 7.1 code.

Thanks,
Chris

The color of a specific box in a table can be set only programmatically, using property nodes (active cell first, then cell background color).

I have not found yet a good way of eliminating the selection rectangle. A real pain !

The only way I found to get rid of the selection box is to activate the show selection (!!!), then to send the "start selection" out of the table pane. You also need to set the Selection length to  0 and the key focus off.
See the attached vi.

CC, thanks for your work on this. I was on vacation last week, and I had almost forgotten my frustration with this control. The workaround you suggested is an improvement, but it's still rough around the edges. NI should really improve this. I'm thinking about using an activeX table control to avoid the problem.

thanks,
Chris
