MoTec 880

I need to use LabView to run a test of a MoTec 880 Engine Control.  The MoTec outputs data on a CAN Bus.  We have a CAN - USB Converter to access the info by a PC.  This is for Read only.  Has anyone interfaced LabView with the MoTec 880 thru CAN USB converter?

Hi Tamarac,

I assume that you're using the MoTeC USB-CAN Converter cable?  If that's the case, then if I remember correctly, they have their own driver that is used to communicate with the CAN bus via this cable.  You can not only read, but can write data to the CAN bus using this driver and cable.

If you're wanting to use LabVIEW to interface with a CAN device such as this ECU, you can use one of our USB-CAN devices such as the NI USB-8473 and our NI-CAN driver to do this.  If you're interested in going this direction, give us a call at 1-866-ASK-MYNI and you can ask to speak to an account representative for more information.
