Dear NI Technical Support Team,
I am currently experiencing an issue with my NI myRIO 1900, serial number 317488A. The details of the problem are as follows:
🔧 Problem Description:
The Status LED is blinking 2 times repeatedly, which I understand indicates that the device is in Safe Mode.
In some instances, the Status LED blinks continuously without a specific pattern, and the device does not function as expected.
I have already tried performing both the 5-second reset (Safe Mode) and the 10-second reset (Factory Reset) using the physical reset button, but the LED behavior does not change — it continues blinking.
🧪 Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
Connected the myRIO to a PC via USB cable.
Using Windows 10 64-bit PC.
Installed the following software:
LabVIEW 2019
NI myRIO Toolkit 2019
NI-RIO Drivers 2019
Checked using NI MAX, but the myRIO device is not detected (either does not appear or shows as disconnected).
Tried multiple USB cables and different USB ports, as well as testing on another computer.
🙏 Request for Assistance:
I would appreciate your guidance on the following:
Are there any additional recovery steps I can take to restore the device?
Could this be a firmware corruption or a hardware-level issue?
If necessary, is there an official method or tool to manually re-flash the firmware or reinstall the real-time OS on the myRIO?
Thank you in advance for your support. I look forward to your assistance.
Sincerely,

Hi
While waiting for the cavalry to come to the rescue, I suggest you read these specific steps for LabVIEW 2019 :
https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA03q000001Dvw2CAC
The information is general for RIO including myRIO.
But the author forgot to mention that you need to install CompactRIO.
I don't know where you found 'NI-RIO Drivers 2019'. There is no such thing.
NI changed the name of RIO related software from 'NI-RIO version' to 'NI CompactRIO version' in 2015 to solve a confusion with several overlapping software packages for different RIO products by merging them into one package.
MAX should show a software entry called 'CompactRIO version', where version could be '19.0'. If there is no such entry, you have not installed CompactRIO.
And since 2022 Q3 the version of 'NI CompactRIO' has changed to a year scheme like '2022 Q3'. Likewise in MAX.
All software for myRIO must be 32 bits versions.
And beware that even when connected through USB the myRIO behaves as a networked device with an IP Address. And you must open a Port in the Firewall to contact it.
Regards

Hi
The merging of NI-RIO software needs some additional details.
NI-RIO ( since 2015 ) means the shared software part for some RIO product types as listed below.
You can still find NI-RIO listed in MAX and NI has detailed what NI-RIO means today :
