NI-CAN RPC Server not found

I am trying to configure my NI-CAN cards on my PXI systems through MAX.  Unfortunately, when I go to Tools->NI-CAN->RT Hardware Configuration, I get an dialog error that says "NI-CAN RPC Server not found."  I found an article about this on the NI Support website, but it did not seem to be of any help.  I am able to connect to the PXIs and do everything else that I need to.  I am thinking that I am missing some software drivers on the PXI or something.  Does anyone know what software is required to access the NI-CAN cards?  Obviously, I have the CAN drivers installed.  I was just wondering if there are others that I need.

This error is not caused by the NI-CAN driver, but by failed communication with the RT target.  As far as CAN goes, all you need is NI-CAN installed with support for LabVIEW RT.  If you are getting this error, then you have NI-CAN installed correctly.  Now it's just a matter of going through the steps outlined in the KnowledgeBase entry above to connect to the RT target.
