NI Certification Question (Just plan to do - The 1st step)

Dear all,

 I want to learn and take the exam.  I just graduate and don't have job, so I can't afford to pay $5500. Is there any book that I can buy to study myself? Can I just talk the exam instead of buying  the whole package? Anyone has the experience please help

You don't need to buy anything, but the training classes are helpful.  As for books, I like LabVIEW For Everyone; a lot of people have successfully used it.  Search LAVA for book reviews.  Search the NI site for preparation tips, ask lots of questions, read lots of code and practice (a lot).
