Hello,
Is the DAQCard 6024E working in MAX and Device Manager? First you said that it is working and then you said that it was giving you an error. What error are you getting? If the 6024E is working in MAX and Device Manager, then it is probably not a driver issue. Did you let Windows automatically associate the driver with the board? When you boot up the computer, Windows should detect new hardware. Let Windows automatically associate the driver with the DAQCard 6024E.
You might want to upgrade to Traditional DAQ 7.4.4 or DAQmx 8.5. I would recommend using the DAQmx driver, especially if you are developing a new application.

i will try with the new driver.
I have two devices from NI, NI-ELVIS and UMI7764.
The DAQcard 6024E was working when I was using it for NI-ELVIS.
After switching the DAQcard to UMI7764, windows can't detect the DAQcard.
Device manager shows that there is no driver and MAX shows no DAQcard is plugged.

Hello,
It is very unusual that the DAQCard 6024E was working with NI-ELVIS and suddenly stopped working with the UMI-7764. The UMI-7764 is nothing more than a breakout box for motion control. It does not send any information back to the DAQ board to identify that it is or is not working correctly.
Does your DAQCard 6024E work properly without anything attached? Does it stop working once the UMI-7764 is connected? Make sure that the DAQCard 6024E is working correctly before connecting the UMI-7764. The DAQCard 6024E should be able to work correctly in MAX even if the UMI-7764 is connected.
What cable are you using to connect the DAQCard 6024E to the UMI-7764? Although the connectors are similar in size, they are not mapped out the same. The UMI-7764 was not intended to be used with the DAQCard 6024E. The SCB-68 is the recommended breakout box for that DAQ board.

I am having a similar problem:
I have a DAQCard-6024E that I am trying to use with a Windows Vista (32-bit) laptop. I have NI-DAQmx 9.2.2 installed. According to this: http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/6913#daqcards and this http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/678CCC14FEA8F8CE8625743400680F8D it should be supported in 9.2.2 with 32-bit Vista.
My problem is that not only does the card not show up in the Measurment and Automation Explorer but it doesn’t even show up as an unknown device in windows device manager.
The laptop only has an Expresscard slot, so I am using an Express card to card bus adapter (ST-Lab c-380). Windows detects the adapter but does not detect the DAQ card.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rudy

Hi Rudy,
Since the DAQCard is not recognized as an unknown device in Windows, that will be the main issue to work around to get your card working. Do you have any other adapters or laptops to try? Since you are using a 3rd party adapter, it is hard to say if there are any incompatibilities between the adapter and the DAQCard. Has this ever worked before?

Hi Kyle,
Thanks for the quick response. It turns out that the adapter I bought from a local computer store does not work with 16-bit cards. It seem like most of the ones I saw online do not either. I am happy to say however that I did get the card working on a home laptop with a real PCMCIA slot under Vista. It looks like some of the other forums had suggestions for adapters that will work with the 16-bit cards. I will check those out.
Thanks for your help,
Rudy

Dear Rudy,
do you have a solution with an PCMCIA-Express Card Adapter which works with 16bit cards? I have found that Cardbus adapter
but it also works only with 32bit cards. Now I do not know if my DIO-24 NI Card (NI DAQCard-DIO-24 from NI) is a 16bit or 32 bit card, but with
that LINDY Cardadapter it does not work.
Please let me know your advices.
Thanks
