NI GOOP Development Suite in VIPM

There are two versions of NI GOOP Development Suite on my PC both installed from VIPM.

NI GOOP Development Suite v1.1.87.94

and

NI GOOP Development Suite v1.1.73.73

Both by National Instruments.

Are these two different suites or is there an error that VIPM did not remove one before installing the latest?

Are they both installed into the same LabVIEW version? Or is one of those (presumably the higher version) only supported in a newer LabVIEW version than the previous?

Hi John,

It seems like we added the newer version as a separate package rather than as an update to the existing one. I'm not sure why this occurred, and both *seem* to install to the same locations when I tried it. There shouldn't be any problem with having both installed as long as the more up-to-date one was installed last.

If it's a concern, you might try uninstalling both packages, then installing only the latest. My best guess as to why they are separate has to do with the update notes for the more recent version:
"Resolved installation issue on Mac/Linux"

Chances are we didn't want that change to affect existing Windows users, but I'm only speculating at this point.

Thanks Charlie!

It wasn't causing an issue I am just use to VIPM removing old versions of packages.
