For LabVIEW development, I created a Simulated NI-6612 counter device in NI-MAX. After that, whenever I tried to open NI-MAX, it froze while "loading plugins". I develop on a Windows 7 64-bit VM and the only way to continue to use the VM after NI-MAX froze was to kill the Vmware VMX task on the Windows 10 Host. I tried many things to cure this, (simply "repairing" NI-MAX did not cure the problem) but I found upgrading MAX from version 15 to 16 allowed NI-MAX to run again as expected, an apparent cure. So I tried creating a simulated NI-6612 device, and the same problem started happening again.
I would like to try to "remove" the Simulated NI-6612 device without uninstalling/re-installing NI-MAX. Does anyone know how to remove a device from the current configuration without opening NI-MAX?

You can reset the MAX configuration without opening up NI MAX.

However, this would also clear any other simulated devices and tasks that you have in MAX.

Thank you Salazar for the quick reply! I am currently off-site on another project but will check this solution out soon, and will update the forum with the results.

This solution worked to allow me to open NI-MAX again without it locking up. I still need to figure out why adding a simulated device seemed to cause a problem..
