NI-RIO 2.0.2 Installation

Hi,

I just downloaded the NI-RIO 2.0.2 update and tried to install it on TWO platforms. It says "Installation Successful" but within the MAX it still shows 2.0.1 on both machines. I had already installed 2.0.1 when it was released.

I tried uninstalling and Installing it again but, same results. If I try to install without uninstalling, it says "Update Installation Failed"

"Error on Verifying product for update to CompactRIO module support. Please reinstall it before trying to run the application again"

Then I opened up my project and all references to the cRIO modules were missing!Smiley Mad

Currently uninstalling / Reinstalling FPGA/RIO drivers... has anyone encountered this before?

NI-RIO 2.0.2 is really CompactRIO Module Software 2.0.2.  So, the MAX listing for NI-RIO will actually still show 2.0.1.  If you uninstall, you need to start again with NI-RIO 2.0.  This is because 2.0.2 is just an update and needs 2.0.1 installed on your machine to work.  Therefore, you uninstalled all of your cRIO support files but never got them back.

Thanks for the quick reply, I hadn't uninstalled NIRIO until I got the messsage for an unsuccessful install...

I reinstalled NI RIO 2.0, then ran the patch 2.0.1 and then 2.0.2 (Not expecting any change in Max)...Looks like we are back to normal.

ThanksSmiley Happy

There should actually be an entry in MAX for CompactRIO Module Software.  In the future, we may remove the entry for NI-RIO and replace it with an entry for the driver.  This way, we can upgrade the driver and the module support seperately without causing version confusion like this.

CompactRIO Module Software 2.0.2 does not contain any modifications of the 78xxR target plugins for LabVIEW FPGA when compared to NI-RIO 2.0.1.
