What version did you install and what are you trying to configure? What error message do you get?

Hi Dennis,

I am trying to communicate with my USB device (which is MSP430), I didnt get .INF file for Windows10, may be because of that i am not able to see my device on NI VISA devices. And i have NI VISA 5.0

Thank you for replying!! 🙂

That's a very old version of NI-VISA and it is not supported on Windows 10. The first thing to do is to install the correct version - http://www.ni.com/download/ni-visa-15.0.1/5693/en/

Your version of LabVIEW must be compatible as well. If you have an older version, it might not work with the current version of NI-VISA or with Windows 10.

I have no idea about your instrument. The vendor should be providing it's driver for the USB connection. The driver will need to define the port as either USBTMC or as a virtual serial port in order for it to be seen in MAX.

Hi Dennis,

Changing the VISA software version did work out. Thank you so much! Also, can u suggest any tutorials where i can find sample codes using NI-VISA. I am actually trying to read the voltage variation because of obstacle in front of my sensors and display on LabVIEW. And, i am using MSP430 board as my controller board.

Thank you for your help!

Look in the LabVIEW examples under VISA - there are many examples built into LabVIEW.
