NI-VISA with 32-bit vs. 64-bit

Hi All,

Just want to throw this out there. Has anyone else experienced issues using NI-VISA VIs in LabVIEW 2017 (64-bit)? I tried reinstalling NI-VISA, making sure I had all the drivers installed, etc. with no luck -- always getting error code -1073807202, saying I'm missing some library. BUT, when I run the same code in 2017 (32-bit), it runs fine. I assume I should be able to use VISA VIs in either version, so maybe it's just a bug?

Thanks!

Michael

Was your order of install:

  1. LabVIEW 32-bit
  2. VISA drivers
  3. LabVIEW 64-bit

If so, you will have to re-install the VISA drivers for the 64-bit install. Make sure you install the development support for LabVIEW 2017 64-bit.

Hi gregoryj,

As I recall, I installed LabVIEW 64-bit first.

Then, when I went to install the VISA drivers, it coerced me to install LabVIEW 32-bit also.

I'll try reinstalling the drivers once more though.

Thank you,
