i am having problems installing NI-DAQmx 8.0.
from the menu i choose "Install NI-DAQmx/VI Logger"
at the next screen with form label "NI-DAQmx 8.0" the following message appears;
"Please wait while the installer initializes"
at the first green block on the progress bar a message box pops up with the label
"setup.exe"
"The instruction at "0x%08|x" referenced memory at "0x%08|x". The memory could not be "%s"."
the only option is to click OK and exit to desktop.
some background:
this software has been previously installed on the computer and ran with no problems.
it had not been run for a few weeks & when i went to run, it the Measurement & Automation Explorer
ran alright but nothing was detected under "Devices & Interfaces", not even the sub folder called
"NI-DAQmx Devices"
when i tried to uninstall the software it got around half way then stopped.
all subsequent attempts to uninstall/install failed.
i have run Registry Mechanic which fixed up alot of missing links etc errors and have manually deleted
all files that are obvious NI
i have run Windows Install Cleanup which fixed problems associated with .msi installer.
i have installed software on another computer & tested hardware - all with no problems.
i suspect that there is a corrupt registry entry or corrupt .dll files lurking somewhere
any help in fixing this problem would be greatly appreciated
