No COM ports available in the Measurement and Automation Explorer

Solved!

Hello everyone,

I have installed Labview version 9.0 (32-bit version) on a Windows XP machine with the Measurement & Automation Explorer. When I open this, the program cannot find any COM ports or LPT ports. Does anyone have a solution on what to do?

Hello,

Assume your system has all these ports.

Try this option, goto MAX, Devices and Interfaces--> Serial& Parallel-->Right click on that and create new port.

Hope this works for you

Have you installed NI-VISA from the device driver CD/DVD?  It should be installed automatically.

I don't even see Devices and Interfaces. All I see in the Tree View is My System and Remote System (which has nothing in it). Under My System is Labview 2009, Labview 9.0 Run-Time, Labview RunTime 8.2.1, LabWindows/CVI Run-Time 9.0, Measurement and Automation Explorer 4.6, and NI-USI 1.7

Sorry, I'm a newbie at this.

Put in your device driver CD/DVD and install the device drivers again.

I would also suggest the same, try re-installing the device drivers
