No Sound in on OSX intel platform - urgent

I can see that it is imposssible to use the Sound in vi on the intel environment at this time
unless you use LV under rosetta
the only reason we bought LV 8.2 was because of the supposed support of the intel platform which is necessary when we use Labview on a laptop and need to preserve memory and efficiency

when will this support be added ?
at this time, it is nearly impossible to sell a solution which would work under the rosetta environment and with no schedule to present

Is there a pattern here? Version 7, Labview Express, worked fine in OS X but it could not address the PCI boards unless using Real Time.

This was reported to R&D (# 3Y1DG95E) for further investigation. We are aware that the sound VIs do not work properly on Intel Macs. They should work in Rosetta.

Remember that LabVIEW 8.2 is a "Pioneer release" for the Intel Macs. According to this KB article, "While LabVIEW 8.2 has native support for the Intel architecture, LabVIEW 8.2 has not been fully tested on the Intel architecture platform.". You can find more information on the KB article "Known Issues Using LabVIEW 8.2 on Macintosh Systems with Intel x86 Architecture". I will make sure that the Sound VIs get added to that list.

Thank you for posting.

As I'm planning to port a LabVIEW application of mine that makes use of the sound port functions to the MacIntel platform I urge NI to soon get this fixed in LV 8.20.1.

I am aware that LabVIEW 8.20 is being released as a pioneer release for MacIntel and I thank NI for providing this to the community. I also urge all LabVIEW programmers on MacIntel machines to report any encountered problems so that NI will be able to fix them in 8.20.1. I also hope that the update will soon be released.

Thank you
