Numeric indicator decoration?

Is it possible to remove that bevell effect that you get with numeric boxes? please refer to my attached image.

Go with the Classic Simple Numeric control instead.

I disagree.  Segemented fonts are a vestigal artifact of a bygone era when the components that made up a display were expensive. 
I'm glad we rarely see such things anymore.
