OBD over CAN

Using ADCS to access OBD over CAN, what 'transmit ID' and 'receive ID' do  need to use? I recieve nothing at present from the vehicle...

Hi,

The transmit and recieve IDs will depend on the device that you are attempting to communicate with.  You can set the transmit ID to anything within the correct syntax as detailed in the manual however it is necessary that you confirm that the device you are attempting to communicate with is listening for that ID.  The recieve ID will be defined by the device you are attempting to communicate with.

Thanks. Is there a standard ID used by the hand-held OBD scanners used in garages and car dealers? I need to produce something which looks like on OBD scanner to the vehicle.

Hi,

Unfortunatly I am not sure of any standard IDs for ODB, I suggest getting hold of the manuals for one of these devices to try and find the IDs needed.
