Options for a Powerbook (MacOSX) measurement system?

I want to set up a portable system to measure brake pressures and stopping distances on trains using an Apple Powerbook G4 with Labview 7. The people at NI in Norway can't find any compatible PCMCIA PCcards with drivers for OSX. Are drivers being developed? Other portable (elegant) solutions?

ingmar,

Your contact at NI Norway is correct -- the NI-DAQ driver has not been ported to MacOS X. We are currently evaluating whether or not to port the driver to MacOS X. Currently, you are able to build your data acquisition applications in LabVIEW Real-Time for Mac OS X and target our PXI modular instrumentation hardware. Please see the following Knowledge Base articles for information on NI-DAQ driver support for MacOS X and for more information on how to develop applications in MacOS X using NI-DAQ when targetting embedded PXI controllers.

Justin,
Thank you for good links and a clear answer. The most elegant solution seems to be Labview 7, MacOS 9 and a suitable DAQCard. But I'll be looking forward for MacOSX drivers.

Ingmar
