Thanks.  I have some ideas I'll try tomorrow morning, and will get right back to you.  But tell me if I'm right about this:

  1. You want to generate an analog signal encoding the current time every 5 seconds.  The signal consists of 1 second of three voltages representing Minutes, Hours, Seconds (I'm not 100% certain of the order, but that's easily fixed) and 4 seconds of 0 volts.
  2. You want to simultaneously sample this signal at some (presumably higher) rate -- for now, we'll say 1KHz (also easily adjusted).
  3. Are there other timing requirements?

Bob,

Everything you just said is exactly correct. Thank you!

the order was minutes, then hours then seconds. No other timing requirements.

Bob,

I received your email and can't thank you enough! I have run the VI and it is doing exactly what I was trying to do! Your description attached with the VI's was amazing! If there is anything I can do for you to pay you back, please let me know!
