I'm installing a NI PCIe-1430 card into a x16 PCIe slot. After doing so, the PC will not boot up...I've installed the card on two different machines and get the same result; neither machine will boot.
After removing the 1430, the PCs will boot up as expected.
I have installed and activated the NI Vision Acquistion Software, but this did not get me past the boot up sequence.
Both PCs have the professional development version of LabVIEW installed.
Suggestions?
Thanks.

By "not booting," I assume you mean it doesn't even POST? I think the card is hosed (no good).

Sounds like a short over a voltage rail (3.3V?) on the PCIe card.
Do you have access to a microscope?
Look up the PCIe bus description and find which pads carry voltage and verify if they are shorte, using a multimeter.
You may want to contact your local sales rep.

Hi there,
What type(s) of PC are you using? What specific type of PCI slot (x4, x16, etc)? There is a specific note in the manual regarding this:
"The NI 1430 is compliant with PCI Express 1.0a specifications. The
NI 1430 is intended for a x4 PCIe slot. It does not fit properly into a x1
PCIe slot. However, the NI 1430 does fit into, and can be used in, a x8 or
x16 PCIe slot. Using a smaller width device in a larger width slot is called
up-plugging. When up-plugging, some motherboards only support plug-in
devices at the x1 data rate. If you plan to use the NI 1430 in an up-plugging
configuration, with a camera that produces data faster than 200 MB/s,
verify with your computer manufacturer that your motherboard supports a
x4 plug-in device at a x4 data rate in the PC expansion slot you plan to use."
Also, you may try updating your BIOS on the computer.

Nice job digging that info up! Kudos awarded!
