Greycat,
We've just released a patch for the memory leak problem you noted. It can be found at the knowledgebase 3ZAFJKA4: Patch for Resource Leaks in the LabVIEW PDA Module 8.0.1f1. This should solve the problem, but let us know if you have ANY problems. Thanks!

Chris_C:

I have noticed one thing that started happening for after I installed the patch to fix this problem ... I had a number of decorations on my front panel and now they seem to be disappearing ... seems that it is probably related to the patch or the maintenance release 8.0.1f1  any thoughts?

Greycat,
Thanks for getting back to me... what do you mean by "disappearing". Does it happen on the dev system or only the pda? When do they disappear (during execution? Do they all disappear at once? Is it random which decorations are disappearing?). thanks for the help!

greycat,
Two more things...
1. Can you post your vis?
2. Are you using tab controls?

Below is an example of what is happening ... it took me a little while to reporduce it but, it seems as though if a sub vi is called (in this case more then once) one of the decoration will disappear .... note the label on top of the decoration.  This only seems (at this point) to affect the Vertical Smooth Box) but I have not tried any others other then the ones you see on the front panel.

Run the exe ... hit the "Run Sub" button once ... exit the screen that comes up, then hit the run sub button again ... you will see that the top decoration disappears on teh second run ... the bottom decoration never appears at all.  At least this is what happens on my machine .. hx2790 with WM5.0.

Let me know what you find out, or if you need some more information.

Greycat

The exe is in the zip .... the vis are what was used to build the exe.

I'm am using tab controls in my program but not on that front panel ... the example shows that this is not the cause.

No Problem ... I will revert back to before the patch (since I saved my original files, just in case Smiley Wink) ... I look forward to a patch that will work.   If you could post to this thread when a patch does come available, that would be great!

Hello people:

Several posts ago Martin Kunze said Picture Control VIs have a memory leak everytime you want to re-draw a picture.  I have confirmed this and I am in a very critical stage of the developement (last 1% before completion).  Does the LabVIEW 8.01f1 patch fix Picture Control VI memory leaks or does LabVIEW PDA 8.20 solve these issues?

Thanks

Robert
