PICO PT-104 (bundled VIs are broken with LV 7.1?)

Hi, it seems as though the VIs that came bundled with my PT-104s are broken - is there something in the call library node I should check out? I've placed the correct dlls & llbs in the right places - my RH-02 functions perfectly, just not my PT-104s.
Is the only part of the library i need to use pt104_labview or am i supposed to be using pt104_open_unit, get_value etc etc?

Thank you for your help

Oh, that looks hopeful. I'll check once I find a PC that doesn't loose control of the keyboard and mouse after 10 mins. If it's not one thing it's another!

Hi Dan

Oh dear Smiley Sad That sort of stuff usually happens on a Monday and you are getting it on a Thursday. Never mind, its nearly the weekend.

Let me know if it helps

cheers

Excellent - that did the business.

The problem I'm left with now is that one of the two devices I'm using keeps giving me zeros instead of proper temperature. Everything about the setup is identical, yet the second unit just won't work in Labview. PICO's own control program has no trouble with running both the units simultaneously! Has anyone had any trouble using two units at the same time? The PICO program seems able to gather data at 1Hz for both...

Sorry I don't have the hardware but ...

Have you tried C:\Program Files\Pico Technology\Pico Full\Examples\PT104\example.vi? Does it work?

Can you post your code that doesn't work?

Trying to help...

Ah, I think I have it; neither of the units are working now. It seems that they don't play nicely with my serial>usb adaptor cables. The adaptor drivers/PT-104 combination is seriously buggy (curiously the RH-02 seems to work fine). Unplugging one of the adaptors makes the ding dong sound, but then replugging it or unplugging more has no effect as far as windows or the adaptors are concerned, and then the PC won't shut down Smiley Very Happy

Thanks for the help, looks like I'll have to dig out a serial expansion card after all!

Cheers

If you are up for a challenge the game might not be up. If you can see the USB-SERIAL adapters in MAX then you should be able to write your your own program using VISA. The serial protocol can be found at the end of pt104.pdf in the Technical Reference section.

Maybe that the cheap PCI serial card is looking the better option Smiley Tongue
