PPG signal processing

Am very new to labview..Currently working with PPG signal aquisition and processing with Labview.I cannot understand the logic from the paper am referring.My doubt is in the first file I have attached where i guess some form of filtering is done using derivative.Can anyone pls help with the Vi? What filtering is done? second file is the entire document.

I see this is your first post to the Forums.  When posting LabVIEW code, it is much better to post an entire VI (as a VI, which allows us to edit it, inspect it carefully, see what version of LabVIEW was used to create it, execute it, test it, etc.) -- pictures of pieces of code are often almost useless.  Also, while many of us use and understand LabVIEW, not so many (myself, included) have any idea what "PPG signal processing" means.  Help us to understand your problem so that we can help you understand your problem.
