Pausing a Stepper Motor when an event occurs

Hey Guys, 

I'm controling a stepper motor via Arduiono Package for Labview. I have it communicating and stepping the amount of steps I need it to step but I'm having an issue of just pausing the stepper motor at the current step then have it continue after a certain amount of time and finish the remaining steps.
