Pinning a Functions/Controls Palette in NXG?

Solved!
Go to solution

Is it possible to pin a functions/controls palette in NXG, like in CG? If so, how?

I find it very convenient to pin a sub-panel when I need to use multiple functions from the same sub-palette for an extended period of time.

Thanks!

Never mind, I just found it! Not sure how I missed it, I guess I'm just really used to LabVIEW (CG)  🙂

I just started experimenting with NXG and I'm trying to make my way through these changes... so if any other NXG newbies happen to need help with this, and are used to LabVIEW CG, then you may be doing what I did. You can't pin sub-palettes by right clicking on the block diagram, navigating to the sub-palette of interest, and pinning it. You must use the toolbar on left (See image).

It would be nice if we could pin a sub-palette from any view (whether using toolbar or by right-click on block diagram), but that doesn't seem to be the case at the moment...

Is << pin? That would seem like a very strange choice.

It is not really a pin. It collapsed the current palette vertically underneath the other items.

It is really not a useful feature at all but sadly is the best there is in NXG.

Agreed. It is technically not a pin, but  it's closest thing there is...  Plus you can only "pin"/collapse one palette at a time, where as in the original version you can pin multiple palettes...

I hope NXG will eventually support true palette pinning...
