PocketPC 8.0.1 Hanging on this particular code segament

Attached is an executable and source code for a segment of my program that now hangs.  Under different PDA targets and previous LabVIEW PDA versions - 7.1 and 8.0, I did not encounter any problems.  However, with a different target (SmartPhone using Window mobile 5.0) the lower portion of the source code just "hangs" the program.  The top portion is the slower more CPU intensive workaround.  Whats the problem here folks?

Do you know if the SmartPhone has full windows mobile 5.0 compatability. From what you said in the post, the code has worked on other PDAs correct? I am guessing that there is some missing functionality on the SmartPhone so that might be the issue. Let us know more about what is happening as we do not have a SmartPhone to test the code on.
