I still have the same problem. the PC is detecting the COM port (with USB connection) but I can't communicate with instrument.

I already tried with LabView, Hiperterminal, using serial port, USB, etc.

Any Idea?

Is the com port listed in MAX? When you run the driver, what, if any, error code is generated?

The other thread mentioned that somebody succeeded with hyperterminal and not LabVIEW.

The only difference is that hyperterminal adds CRLF (carriage return and line feed characters) on each press of enter where LabVIEW only sends the string.

adding these characters in LabVIEW should be done with concat  the CR and LF constants from the string palette.

I can communicate now using Hiperterminal, I tried adding CR and LF but still have the same issue.

I found than the "Measurement & Automation Explorer" is not detecting COM ports, but Device Manager is detecting all. If Measurement & Automation Explorer is not detecting ports, labView can't to detect it too.

Maybe Measurement & Automation Explorer has a problem? I have the version 4.5 and i'm using labview 8.6

Are you sure you have NI-VISA installed?  If so, what version.  It will show up under the Software branch of the My System tree in MAX.

You may want to upgrade.  I noticed I have MAX 4.5, and VISA 4.4, installed with my LV 8.6.  An NI person should know for sure, but I'm thinking VISA 4.1 is too old to work with LV 8.6

Still I have the problem.

COM port not detect by Measurment & Automation Software, and LabView.

But is detected by Device manager of PC and can control it using Hyperterminal (not controled by Labview ofcourse)
