Print Selection of Block Diagram

I couldn't find anyway of selecting a portion of a block diagram and just printing that in LV8.  I was able to select Edit | Copy, open my image editor, paste it, crop it, and then print it, but this seems a little excessive.  Is there a simpler way?

Thanks in advance!

Hello Derek,

There is no quick way to print a select region of the block diagram from within LabVIEW.  As you suggested, you can using Alt - Print Screen to copy the image to an image editor.  Also there are other third party tools such as SnagIt that allow you to automatically grab a region, a window, or the entire screen and output it to file or to a printer.

Hope that helps.

I don't know yet how to do it in LV8, but there is a solution in LV7 (see attachment).
However, it uses some property nodes that are not standard functions of LV. You can read about this subject here. That's why there are few chances to have this running as it under LV8.
Anyway, I suppose that something equivalent will be rapidly found by some Enthusiast ;).

Have also a look here, where a tool was built to help pasting diagram images in this forum replies. Probably a new version will be available soon, including this improvement. 🙂

Hope this helps !

Hello CC,

I actually was able to execute your VI in LV 8 and it seems to exhibit the same behavior as it does in LV 7.1 (which is always good news)!
