Problem opening LabVIEW Library...

Solved!
Go to solution

I have the library (attached).  I can open it in LabVIEW 8.5.1, but when I then try to open the VI's within nothing happens.  This is a supplied with a bit of hardware we have.  I have no idea what version is was built with.  Is it possible to convert it to 8.5.1?

Thanks.

The library is written in LV 5.1, Labview version 8.2 is the newest version that can open the VIs. You would need to recompile with 8.2 and save them, you should then be able to use 8.5.1.

Yes. If you don't have an interim LabVIEW version as Andrew indicated, you can just put in a request in the Upconvert Requests Thread.

As there seems to be a lot of older LabVIEW libraries around you would thing that NI would provide a tool to convert them.  Or make LabVIEW backwardly compatible... Smiley Mad

You can open older versions of LabVIEW code in newer versions. Up to a point. You were dealing with a library that was written in a really old version of LabVIEW. It's not practical or cost-effective to support versions of LabVIEW all the way to the beginning.
