For an automotive application I've developed an application which is runnung well on my development PC (win2000) with LV2009.
Build an executable that uses no drivers etc. , this runs fine on my development PC and is tested with RTE 2009 on a "LabView virgin" PC (win2000).
We wanted to put this programm on an Compact Design Panel PC (PDX-057T) with a 5,7" 640x480 touchscreen. It has XP pro and 256MB memory.
The RTE 2009 was reporting an error while installing (memory problem....) , couldt not write to xxx location. The disc is an 4Gig compact flash type.
When I checked the RTE 2009 requirements I saw that the minimum Ram was 64MB (256 preferred) and a screen resolution of 800x600.....
Question:
Is it possible to run RTE 2009 on an 640x480 resolution ?
The processor is stated: DM&P SoC CPU Vortex86DX-1Ghz , ....... is this causing the problem..... I do'nt think so but...... ?
Thanks,

hi Wazig,
I've read your questions, but I cannot immediately answer them. They do arise some questions of my own.
You mentioned the Compact Design Panel PC PDX-057T, in combination with Windows XP Pro. Are you sure this is the OS which runs on the Panel PC? Normally Panel PCs of that size are equiped with Windows CE or Windows XP Embedded. This is a huge difference to Windows XP Pro.
Can you verify the OS that you're running on the Compact Panel PC?
Next to that, I'm quite interested in the free space on the 4GB compact flash disk.
We've done quite a lot of work with Touch Panel PCs (in fact: we even sell them ourselves), so normally it should be working, but It might require some additional software.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

Hello Peter S
This Panel PC was running Windows XP, not XP Embedded.
About the free space, I don't know. The sales person took his demonstration model with him, but I don't think it was a free space problem.
Can you advice me for a small Touch Panel PC that works with LV09 ?
(5.7"-8" 800x600 or more, with Lan port to connect to a Compact Rio.)
Thanks in advance

John

I just put my PC in 640X480 mode and started LV 2009. I did not get any errors. Are you sure the installer is not corrupted. I have seen this error with a corrupted installer. Can you give more information about the error.

Hello Coq Rouge,
This installer I've downloaded from NI, and tested it on two other "LabView virgin" machines, they worked ok.
My question is; is it possible to install the runtime engine if in 640x480 mode.... I will test this myself, and let you know the result....
Thanks,
John

Hi Wazig,
If you take a look at the TPC (Touch Panel Computer) part of our website:
https://www.ni.com/en-us/shop/category/hmis-and-displays.html
Here you find three models that are supplied with Windows CE (TPC-2012, TPC-2016 and TPC-2016T) and also three models that are supplied with Windows XP Embedded (TPC-2512, TPC-2515 and TPC-2515D).
Most of these models (4) have a big size of screen (12 inch). The TPC-2016 and TPC-2016T have a 5.7 / 5.6 inch screen.
Our TPCs actually have one disadvantage: you need an additional LabVIEW module: the Touch Panel Module, to deploy applications to your TPC target.

Hello Peter S
I have one TPC-2106T on my desk, but this one is not what we wanted to install in a customer car for demostration purposes.
We have purchaged the Touch Panel Module for this comuter, which is running windows CE.
The resolution is to "small" and the body is too "big"..... It is planned in a new type Fiat 500, this is a very small European car.... also the colordepth is not usable for foto pictures we noticed.
The problem is not the installer and I tried in on a third machine with 640x480 the installer worked OK.... also the executable was working fine.
Thanks for your replies,
John

Hi John,
The installer did work on another Touch Panel Computer?
Testing this on a standard computer will not be "fair". The installer wil function properly on a computer with a lower resolution.
