I just recieved a SPEX 1680B double spectrometer(which is a quite old machine with a RS232 interface on its body) from a retiring professor. I want to put it into use while I know little about how to make it listen to me. All I know is I am supposed to utilize Labivew(with VISA) to send code to it and receive the results. Could anyone please tell me which part of Labview should I use and what exactly should I do(procedures with steps are preferred). I am freshman on it, so please don't laugh at me:p~~Thank you in advance!Your every effort will be highly appreciated.
If you search for SPEX 270M You'll find a driver converted from the old serial mode to the more up-to-date VISA for the SPEX 270M Spectrometer, maybe this could be a starting point for you.
