I need to generate a PDF as report output and would prefer to print a vi front panel directly to PDF as opposed to using a template in (office, etc.). I need to control deployment cost and would prefer to avoid add-ons. Does anyone have experience with this?

I already reviewed the cited solutions and concluded that they do not print the front panel of a vi, but rather work from a template-like interface. Did I miss something?

For the Simplicity AI LabView toolkit:
• String Text to PDF
• Embedded Data Tables
• Headers and Footers
• Embedded Graphics
• Add Front Panel and Control Images
• Multiple Font Support
• 2 Example VIs Included
• Watermark Free
• VI documentation and Help File
For the PDF Report with iTextSharp", take a look at the page 8 of the User manual. The image of the front panel was added with "Append Front Panel Image.vi"
In both cases it is not a a template-like interface.

In both cases the front panel image is added with the invoke node "FP.Get Image".

Thanks J-M, the solution works great. For future reference, are the manual and examples available in English?

I work on a new version. I added some VIs for table formatting: merge cells, image in table, ... It is working but I am not satisfied - not really intuitive. I also added some Vis for barcodes . I plan to have examples in English and of course the user manual with the new version.

Hello,
BTW, did you ever get an answer...manual in English?
I need to try using the ITEXTSHARP. I was using Simplicity and everything was simple and worked great running VI on develoment machine, but for some unknown reason I a compiled, executable version didn't work even on development machine.
I am out of town and don't have access to Labview at the moment. Do you know if the ITEST VIs have UNLOCKED blocked diagrams.
Thanks in advance!
🙂
