Project File Reload SCC Integration

>You can then take advantage of a menu option on the project file itself - "Get Latest Version of All Files".

This only works if the project file is upto date, otherwise it tell you to update the project file.

This morning I have done the following:

- Opened the project from the start screen. It immediately opens with a * next to the file name on the title bar, indicating something has changed.

- I do tools - source control - get latest version, to get the latest version of the project file.

- I now have to exit LabVIEW because I'm looking at the cached version, rather than the one from disk

- Start LabVIEW and open the project from the start screen again.

- Right click - "Get Latest Version of All Files"

- Now it says I've changed the project again, I have and asterix.

- If I make the local copy writable and then save the project file, there are no differences between that one and the one in source control.

I think I can see why people might not want to be forced to reload the project, but I'm will not clear why I having to close LabVIEW to reload the project? If I close the project and re-open it again that should surely be enough?

Hi Jon,

I can see where you are coming from with the part about just closing down just the project.

That said, in order to implement some features, LabVIEW is built so that it holds items in memory until it is completely closed down. Because of that I don't anticipate there being a change to alter this behaviour in the short term.

I realise that may not be the answer you were hoping for just now however you can certainly publish your idea to the LabVIEW Idea Exchange to contribute to possible future enhancements.

Best regards,
