Question about scan clock

Hello!
I have read a lot of information about encoders and external scan clock, but I have some questions.
If I connect the signal of a N ppr encoder to the external scan clock of my daqpad 6070, do I obtain my list of channels at the maximun scan rate every pulse of the encoder? This is, I have a pulse ---> I need channels 0,1,2... at 1.25 Msamples/ sec, another pulse---> 0,1,2...
If I connect only the 1 ppr signal, can I simulate with a counter the signal of the N ppr encoder, connect it to the external scan clock  and obtain the same results that N ppr?
