RS232 to USB with Agilent 34401A and E3631A

Laptop connects to 34401A via USB to RS232 with null modem.

I still receive timeout Error -1073807339.

Well that's not much to go on for resurrecting a two year old thread...

Have you tried any of the suggestions in this post?

I definitely tried the null modem as suggested. It still shows timeout error.

SOLVED: On the instrument, verify that the RS-232 interface is selected (GPIB is the default interface on many instruments).
