RT - Shared Variables

Solved!
Go to solution

In Windows, assigning controls/indicators to a shared variable at the host level has the following extension: My Computer\Shared Variables.lvlib\Variable Name

The Remote Side extension: \\IP Addr\Shared Variables\Variable Name

On an RTT - what does the extension look like for a Windows remote machine?  The RTT is the host.  In the project, the host looks no different which I guess is expected (please correct me if I need to actually fix that).  But on the remote side, I'm wondering if the Linux OS will mess with that extension.  I'm using a cRIO-9064

Are you asking what the path is if you are trying to connect to Shared Variables on a Windows machine? It has the same "remote" path using an IP Address as you already described; that's how any client can connect to a remote server (be it the Linux RT or Windows).

When the RTT deploys the shared variables, what would the extension look like?
