Hi,
I am running labview 2009 and have NI-RIO 3.2.0 with NI scan engines installed on my controller(NI9074).In my project explorer when i try to connect to my controller i get the following error :
"The Scan Engine settings configured in the project are different from what is currently deployed on the target. If you choose not to deploy the project Scan Engine settings to the target, the project and target will remain out of sync."
I did install NI-RIO 4.0(minimal) on my controller as well but still no luck. it was saying the versions of real time between host and controller are not compatible although i have installed NI-Rio 4.0 on my host.
Can you guys point me in the right direction as to what versions are compatible between the host and controller. or if this error is because i am doing something else wrong??
Thanks

I think NI RIO minimal does not include scan engine support, but I don't remember off the top of my head. When you choose to add/remove software in MAX for the RIO, is there an option for install which includes scan engine support?
Also, what's a bit confusing, in your first setence you say you have 3.2.0 with scan engine support on your controller, then you say you installed 4.0 minimal and you have 4.0 on the host. Why don't you install 4.0 with scan engine support on the controller? That is most likely your problem. You need 4.0 on your host and 4.0 with scan engine support on the controller.

It sounds like you have not yet deployed the settings you've configured in the project to your cRIO. I believe if you right click on the target and choose "Deploy All" it should synchronize your cRIO with the project.

I Found out that I have to have at least NI_RIO 3.2.1 in order for it to work with Labview 2009( form the compatibility charts on NI website). After reinstalling NI_RIO 3.2.1 I have new issues that you can see in the attached PNGs.
I have tried removing all of NI software and its folders and reinstalling the program but still no luck.
Any ideas?

Hello Persol,
Yes, you are correct: NI-RIO 3.2.1 is listed as the first compatible version for LabVIEW 2009 in "NI-RIO and LabVIEW Version Compatibility". Based on your attached screenshots, your installations of NI-RIO and NI-VISA appear to be corrupt. This could be caused by manually removing files, as this alters what files are expected to exist on the system. Following the document "How Do I Uninstall or Repair National Instruments Software?", I recommend repairing NI-RIO and NI-VISA.This is a different process than simply uninstalling and reinstalling NI Software.
If this does not resolve the issue, I recommend posting a screenshot of the contents of the "Software" item beneath "My System" in MAX.
Also, to clarify your earlier question, you will need the same version of NI-RIO installed on your cRIO and computer to successfully deploy from a LabVIEW project.

Andrew,
Thank you for your response,
I did try what you said as well as Uninstalling and Installing back the entire National Instrument software,
Are there any known problems running Labview on AMD machines?
Attached I have the screen shots.

Hello Persol,
Thank you for posting these screenshots. Two follow-up questions I have for you are:
1. Are you using Windows 7?
2. If you select "VISA Warning" (Capture1.PNG of your second post), are you actually missing the files listed in the error (ex: C:\Program Files (x86)\IVI Foundation\VISA\WinNT\bin\NiViRio.dll )
If you are running Windows 7, NI-RIO 3.2 is not supported on Windows 7 (only 2000, XP, and Vista). I recommend upgrading to NI-RIO 3.3 and which is compatible with both LabVIEW 2009 and Windows 7. In addition, I recommend upgrading to NI-VISA 5.2 for similar compatibility reasons.

Hi Andrew,
Yes I am using windows 7 and Yes those files do exist in the bin directory!!
Will i be able to install NI-RIO 3.3 with scan engines on my Controller? or will it just give me an option to install Minimal Version?(i guess i can try that.)
This is weird because my co-worker has the same exact setup on windows 7 and his works just fine. but thank you very much for letting me know, i will definitely give it a try.

Hello Persol,
To check in on your status: were you able to install NI-RIO 3.3 and NI-VISA 5.2?

Andrew,
Unfortunately since i had already invested days trying installing and uninstalling NI software on my computer ( and we all know how long NI installations are) I haven't tried your method and i decided to install the software fresh on a new pc( windows 7). It is working now and that is all i care at this point.
Thanks for all the help
