Hello,
I am trying to determine what I can do with a set of older *.vi files and/or re-start the data collection instrument I used these on. My concern is with updating the LabVIEW files and running an experiment if feasible. Data collection is based on the PCI-5154 card. I strongly suspect I will not be able to use the software because the license fee (this is an annual obligation correct?) has not been paid. In turn, this may reduce my efforts to upgrading the *.vi files ( these were completed in 2014) even if only for a temporary basis under the trial period for a demo version of LabVIEW.
Please advise. I need to work fast.
Thank you.

This is NI's stance on trial software and its use : https://www.ni.com/documentation/en/ni-license-manager/latest/manual/eval/
If you download LabVIEW, you can extend the 7-day evaluation to 45 days for free.

Thank you for this information. I knew this was an option but did not recall the details. I do not anticipate needing 45 days but if I am able to gain access to the lab and this system I now have the information I need to make progress.

If you do not already have LabVIEW now, you need to know that NI has gone to a subscription based software model starting January 2022.
It is rather complicated, but the essence is that you have to pay every year to be able to use LabVIEW.
The model is similar to Microsoft and its Office 365.

The faculty member I worked for paid this subscription fee annually when I worked with him during 2013-2015 so I am aware of this issue. I knew a trial period could assist me but could not recall the details. This is actually a small program and 7 days will give me a lot of exposure at 10-12 hours a day. Extending this to 45 days will permit to write several programs myself.
