Hello Corretja,
Firstly, I suppose that you didn´t do the first configuration when you had your device on Win XP, did you??.
Maybe, if you are proving to work with your devices under other PC with Win2000, you must have installed NI-VISA (version 3 or higher), and you should configure NI-VISA to control your USB device.
In other words, through the following link
http://zone.ni.com/devzone/conceptd.nsf/webmain/6792BAB18242082786256DD7006B6416?opendocument&node=dz00000_us
you´ll have to configure your device (s) in order to open a VISA sesion later.
You have to keep in mind these points:
1. What kind of classes of VISA resources is your device ???. Either "USB instr" or "USB RAW".
2. To be sure your version NI-VISA is 3.0 or higher.
3. If your device is USB RAW, firstly you´ll have to configure NI-VISA to control your device (see section 2 of the link) but if your device is USB instr you can connect your device through USB port without configuring in order to communicate with it.
3.1. To configure your USB device to use NI-VISA, you´ll have to do three stepts:
a) Create the INF file using the Driver Development Wizard (Start>>Programs>>National Instruments>>VISA>>VISA Driver Developer Wizard). With this file you´ll tell Windows to use NI-VISA as default driver for the device.
b) Install the INF file and the USB device using the INF file. The installation of this file are included in a header at the top of the INF file.
c) Test this device with NI-VISA Interactive Control: This step is common for USB RAW and USB instr devices. This test is done from MAX, remember to refresh the screen to see all devices. Through VISA Interactive Control (Tools>>NI-VISA>>VISA Interactive Control), you use it to comunicate your device with any VISA resource.
I hope this can help.
