Hey guys,
That is actually something that has been reported to R&D. If you save a VI in LabVIEW 8.0 that uses Express VIs (I've tested the DAQ Assistant, File Dialog, and Acquire Sound VIs), and then try to open the VI in LabVIEW 7.1, there is no error message and nothing happens other than LabVIEW displaying the getting started splash screen. They should be addressing this issue.
