Report Generation: New Report.vi

Running applicaion in development mode works fine.
After compiling however I get Error 7: Open VI Reference in New Report.vi

Why am I getting this error?

When trying to compile with the Dynamic VIs linked in I get this error:

Error 1003 occurred at P:\SIS\Software Distribution\Test & Measurement\Spectrometer\System Test\Pre Release\internal.llb\_Excel Dynamic VIs.vi

Any thoughts here?

Has the version of Office on your machine changed since you installed the Report Generation Toolkit?  The VIs will become broken if the ActiveX interface changes, and this can happen when the Office version changes.  I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling the toolkit.  Also, what version of Report Generation Toolkit are you using?  The latest version is 1.1.1.

P.S. - I'm going to respond to your other thread that you started with a link to this one.  Instead of creating multiple messages on the same question, just wait for a response to your initial thread.

Excel hasn't changed to my knowledge. Though IT may have updated it.

I am using latest Toolkit 1.1

Do you think I can run Repair instead of uninstall/re-install?

Thanks

If the version of Office on your machine changed, that is likely the cause of the problem.  I don't know if a simple Repair will actually replace the Office version-specific files, so you may need to try an uninstall/reinstall.

Also, if you are using RGT 1.1, that is not the latest version...the latest version is 1.1.1.  You can contact NI to see about getting a free copy of RGT 1.1.1 mailed to you (since you are an RGT 1.1 user).

Uninstalled and re-installed. I DO have Ver 1.1.1.

Still have the problem though.

What version of Office do you have?  After the install, try copying the contents of the appropriate subfolder of the "Compatibility" folder on your CD to vi.lib\addons\_office.

Office 2000 ver 9.0.6926 SP-3

Tried just copying files over. No luck.

Had the added problem of not having permission to save them once opened in LV.

So deleted and re-installed after trying to build

Is there any way to find out which VI(s) the compiler is choking on?
