Right-click menu "Help For ..." on property or invoke node crashes LabVIEW 2024 Q3

Hi everyone,

While developing with LabVIEW 2024 Q3 (64bit), I am frequently struck by the malfunction of the new help system.

Apart from the numerous complaints already posted by others here, an annoying part for me is the right-click menu "Help For ..." on property/invoke nodes either crashing LabVIEW, loading a "not found" page or doing nothing at all.

I performed a test with all the class hierarchies available to me:

Here for example with property "Class Identifier" of class "Variable Object" from class hierarchy "Variable":

After doing a right-click > "Help For ..." on a property node configured with one of the classes of each class hierarchy, I obtained these results:

VISA: Nothing happens

IVI: Nothing happens

XML Parser: CRASH

Data Exchange: CRASH

Variable: CRASH

NI DataFinder: "Not Found" / "No Results"

DataSocket: "Not Found" / "No Results"

Remark 1: Online and offline helps have the same effects.

Remark 2: These right-click menu issues are, for the most part, not present in LabVIEW 2023

Regards,

Raphaël.

Here is the answer from NI after reporting this issue:

"I would like to inform you that the issue you reported is acknowledged as a bug, and it will be solved in the LabVIEW 26 Q1 release.
The following web page is the one that LabVIEW is unable to open: Engine - NI
You can track the reported issue using the following bug report numbers: 3178201, 3182331"

@ I saw your comment from there : https://forums.ni.com/t5/BreakPoint/Annual-bug-thread-for-2025/m-p/4444868#M34172

The behavior I see is with LV 2024 Q3 64bit, with both online and offline help.

Maybe it's not there with the 32bit version, I've not installed it to test.

NI tech support also told me:

"I successfully replicated the behavior on both LabVIEW 24 and LabVIEW 25 (both 64-bit)."
