Running Compile worker on Ubuntu. Requires windows forms even with mono. Installed with the .deb file

I have downloaded the most recent vivado .deb linux file from here:https://www.ni.com/en/support/downloads/software-products/download.labview-fpga-compilation-tool.htm...

After installing everything. I attempted to run the CompileWorker shortcut that appears in my apps. (running the most recent LTS version of ubuntu 24).

Nothing happens. I install mono and directly attempt to run the executable with mono in the terminal. What is the issue?

Please use the supported Ubuntu 18.04 or 20.04. NI R&D did not validate the unsupported OS version and cannot guarantee that it will function properly.

Does this error look to be OS Related? I had missing dependencies, but I was able to get those installed without a problem.

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa) is out of standard support May 2025, (Next Month).

There has to be a better solution then using an outdated unsupported OS.

Progress,

Have installed all older dependencies including mono-complete. I am able to run the application. I am still getting a smaller unnamed error. What suggestions do you have?

Sadly, as of 2026 Q1 FPGA Compilation Tool still only officially supports outdated Linux (Ubuntu 18.04, 20.04), Suse (12.4, 15.2), RHEL (7, 8).

Although I've been 10+ years long fan of LabVIEW, I started to discourage engineers to start new projects in a SaaS language. NI must first regain trust within its community.
