Runtime visual C++ error related to nimxs.exe

Hi

I am getting a microsoft visual c++ error saying that this application has requested to be terminated in an unusal way and it points to nimxs.exe and mentions to contact applicatons support team. Everythingwas running fine one moment and then I had to reboot the system and this error mesaage pooped up and now I cann't open any VI or MAX. This machine was not connected to onternet and it doesn't have any anti virus software on it.

I am really confused how to fix this. I browsed some message about some people saying that they have seen similar problem but couldn't find a fix.

Software

Windows 2000
LabVIEW 7.0, 7.1
MAX 4.0

Any help would be appreciated. I have lots of important vis on this machine and I need them to work ASAP

Thanks

Hello Ankit,

I would try to go back and see if your hardware and driver are actually working from MAX. From your message, looks like you are trying this already but MAX is closing on you! LabVIEW is also closing on you or just when you run VIs that call the hardware?
Make sure you do not have a corrupted file in MAX using this Knowledgebase: Why Do I Get a Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX) Database Connection Error?

Finally, try to repair the driver and do not worry about the C++ program until you actually can see a working Test Panel in MAX. I think there is corruption in the driver and probably a repair will be needed.
Hope this helps for now,

Hey Gerardo

Thanks for your reply. I browsed some messages and found a message where someone had a corrupted max like I did  and they suggested to delete the data folder from Max directory and reboot. So I did that and my Max started running but, the Labview was not opening up and it was giving some errors. Then I had to repair LabVIEW using NI's cd and now it runs fine.

So in short deleted the data folder rebooted the system and then repaired the Labview and problem solved.

Thanks

Hi Ankit,

Thank you very much for posting the solution. The knowledgebase I posted above contains the step of deleting the data folder. This basically clears all previous configuration from MAX.
Again, thank you for sharing the answers, that makes these forums more valuable.
