Send sms from Labview without LabVIEW 8.0 PDA module

Does anyone can send sms from Labview without LabVIEW 8.0 PDA module?

A lot of "sms" on internet, but I'm not sure which one can link with Labview? I would like my Labview program send out a sms to alert the user when alarm condition detect.

One easy way to send messages to cell phones is send an email to the phone number. Many, if not most, of the service providers have this type of gateway. LabVIEW has the built-in email functions. You would need to get the actual format of the email address from the service provider.

Unfortunately, my service provider suspend their email to sms gateway service for unknow reason.

You can get a wireless (GSM) modem for the pc. There have been some discussions here that you can do search for. One is http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=142443&view=by_date_ascending&page=1.
