Sending Commands via Serial Communication

Solved!
Go to solution

Thanks a lot... My native language is not English, please accept my apologies if I didn't say my words not correctly, kindly... I have no devices to make this project in real world. My only chance to make this project is a simulation. Actually; my problem is not related to all of the project and serial communication. Simple part of this project make a problem. I posted a new post about this problem in order to not to make arguments again

Fair enough - see my response to your other thread (perhaps it will be merged, which might be convenient...) regarding string matching and toggling outputs.

I'm going to attach here a simple "documentation" PDF I wrote for a fake device that I designed for a class I taught a little while ago.

I believe this is probably similar to the exercise you're undertaking (perhaps mine is simpler than yours - I only had a couple of hours to teach the necessary topics and then have students complete the task, along with another task for DAQmx).

These "fake devices" were in fact created using Arduinos, which could then be used to test the code my students wrote. The students could check the behaviour of their applications, and we only needed fairly cheap hardware for the example.

I also attach the example solution, which won't directly show you that much, but might demonstrate a couple of useful concepts (that hopefully you've already encountered via the reading material available at the top of this forum, for example), and should show how you can write code for a device that you don't have in front of you (and that may or may not even exist).

I make no promises about the validity of the code in any (other) application or usage, including but not limited to the application you're describing, or indeed the application I described.

I am so appreciated you. Thank you very much. You are so helpful, you answered my questions, you advised lots of documents for my project, I will work on it but I need a rest. I have pain on all of my back:D
